KIGOSHI COLLECTION
This collection was donated to Harvard Yenching Library by the family of Professor Kigoshi Osamu in 2019. Professor Kigoshi taught Modern Japanaese Literature at Kanazawa University from 1979 to 2009, then at Sophia University from 2010 to 2018.
ご遺族のご好意により、故・木越治教授のプライベートコレクションを2019年にハーバード大学イエンチン図書館へご寄付頂きました。木越先生の生前の研究対象であった日本近代文学の書籍のみならず、80年代以降のサブカルチャーを網羅するかのような漫画本を含めた、幅広いジャンルの書籍が特徴のコレクションです。
MANGAS 漫画の数々
New manga additions to HYL include nt only the classics such as Tezuka Osamu, Akatsuka Fujio, and Mizuki Shigeru, but also various shojo mangas and comic essays.
手塚治、赤塚不二夫、水木しげるなどの日本を代表するストーリー漫画以外にも、コミックエッセイや少女漫画等も新たに在庫として加わりました。

The Kigoshi collection's magazine titles extend across various genres; from gardening, music, kimono, to sub-cultures.
別冊宝島やQAなどのサブカル・時事系の定期刊行冊子に限らず、90年代の園芸・音楽・着物雑誌など、貴重な資料が揃っています。
ABOUT PROFESSOR KIGOSHI
Professor Kigoshi (1948-2018) was a Japanese Modern Literature scholar. He taught Literature at Toyama University, Kanazawa University and Sophia University. Some of his notable works include critiques on Ueda Akinori.
石川県金沢市出身、79年より富山大学講師・助教授を経て83年に金沢大学で移動。96年「秋成論」で東大文学博士を取得し、
2010年から上智大学教授。生前は上田秋成研究を行なっていた。
